In Birmingham/ England attending the British Society of Criminology 2018 conference at Birmingham City University. Lot of criminologists and criminal justice reform experts attending from across Europe, Africa and the U.S.. Just heard a presentation by criminologists prof. Ben Crewe (check out his work, very resourceful) speaking on the impacts of prisons and imprisonment. Prisons lead to: spiritual growth, a place of refuge, a place of contemplation and a place of rehabilitation. History is replete with the use of Holy Scriptures to enslave, discriminate, marginalized, incarcerate, murder etc. and Christianity is no different. However, we never expected to come to this in the 21st century for the Bible to be used to overtly detach a nursing baby from its mother because she is illegal and justified by the reading of Roman 13 of the Christian Scripture. What else should we expect?
